About the artist:
Patricia Vesga was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia in 1976. As a child she expressed interest in figurative draw, painting everything she saw at every opportunity. Wanting to enhance her talents studying art at the University Antonio Nariño obtaining her degree as a teacher in fine arts in 2001.
During her studies explored the theme of self-portrait and experiment with materials such as mirrors.
Since 1998 she worked as an art teacher at schools and universities in Bucaramanga, while producing artistic work and constantly participated in collective exhibitions and art calls.
In 2007 she moved to live in Chia Colombia where she opened his own workshop personalized teaching, drawing and painting techniques.
From 2010 she began to work pictorial series seeking to highlight diversity and traits that make human unique.
Her favorite subjects are portraits and the human figure. From 2015 she began a series called "mirrors of the soul" which has given much popularity for its great realism inside the eyes and the explosion of colors on the outside (in this series portrays painted by Patricia, she expressed the emotions of each eye in particular, and in some cases within that universe of irises, we can find the image of a reflection, a memory or a concept).
Patricia believes that a portrait is anything that convey an idea of the person portrayed so for her a portrait can be an eye, a torso, a profile etc.
Also since 2015 she has been working on a series of figurative realism titled "Bathers" This series shows female diversity and questions the concept of perfect bodies.
In 2016 she traveled to Spain for the first time and gave us a tour of museums and galleries clinching her passion for painting. In 2017 she traveled to several European countries to continue reveling and learning with the painting of the great masters in every museum she visited, on this trip, she exposed one of her works in Zaragoza Spain and she took as well a workshop portrait with César Santos.
Patricia is a woman dedicated to art, with great potential and talent dreams of creating his whole life and bring a touch of color in this world of so many grays.
